Swim Team FAQ
Can I watch my child swim at practice?
- Yes, but from behind the fence. In accordance with insurance requirements, the pool desk is reserved for swimmers and coaching staff only during practice hours. Parents are not permitted to be on the pool deck during practice.
What is the bike route?
- Bikers/walkers... head straight down hill, and remain right through the old tennis courts, then go behind the shed, through the grass next to the creek, and park your bike at the bike rack.
How do I drop off/ pick up my child at practice?
- Drive down the hill and turn left going toward the pool. On the right before the large parking lot, there will be 3 different drop off spots. Pull forward to the last spot. Coaches will be waiting to help your swimmers get out of the car. Coaches will direct the swimmers to their dry land spot. Parents, continue to pull forward and circle left around the cone in the parking lot to head back out up the hill. Pick up will follow the same pattern.
What is dryland practice?
- Dryland exercises are strength and conditioning exercises.
- Practice will be on the tennis courts.
- Swimmers need a towel or mat, water bottle, and sneakers to participate.
- We use these as getting to know you sessions for younger swimmers at the start of the season especially.
How do I know if my shrimper/under 10 is group 1 or 2?
- Group 1 is last names starting with A-L
- Group 2 is M-Z.
- If you have a conflict with timing due to school/work schedules, you may move to the earlier or later group. You do not need to let a coach or rep know that you are attending a different group.
What do I need to bring to every dryland practice?
- Water bottle, tennis shoes, towel/ mat.
What do I need to bring to every swim practice?
- A labeled bag for all your stuff.... swimsuit, goggles, water & towel.
- Label all of your belongings with a sharpie.
- Please come to practice already wearing sunscreen &/or swim shirt
What / When is Stroke Clinic?
- Stroke Clinic provides an opportunity for more dedicated attention on the techniques to improve strokes, starts and turns. Swimmers can sign up for any clinic that interests them. (Sign up through 2026 Calendar & RSVP)
- Clinics will be offered twice this year!
- Thursday, June 4th at 5:45 pm - Freestyle
- Friday, June 5th at 5:45 pm - Backstroke
- Tuesday, June 9th at 5:45 pm - Breaststroke
- Thursday, June 11th at 11:15 am- Butterfly, Starts & Turns
- Friday, June 12th at 11:15 am- Backstroke
- Monday, June 15th at 11:15 am - Breaststroke
- Tuesday, June 16th at 11:15 am - Butterfly
- Wednesday, June 17th at 11:15 am - Starts & Turns
- All Sessions are 45 minutes and $20 per swimmer/per day.
Do I have to volunteer?
- Yes...All families are required to complete a minimum of 3 volunteer points in order to participate on the swim team.
How can I find where I volunteered?
- From the calendar view, when you are signed up for a job, the "Job Signup" box will be light green
- You can also open the SwimTopia app, click on your name (or your spouse's) and you will see a list of upcoming events that you are signed up for.
Do you have swim team pictures available?
- Yes...Pictures are scheduled Thursday June 11th at 9:45am.
How old does my swimmer have to be to sign up for swim team?
- Swimmers have to be 4 years old on or before May 31st to be able to be on the swim team.
How many days a week is practice?
- Practice is daily, Monday through Friday.
- The season kicks off with afternoon practice while school is in session and switches to morning once the public school year ends.

Does my child have to know how to swim?
- No, we will teach them how to swim and they can take swim lessons to get caught up if need be.
What age group will my child swim with he/ she has a birthday during the swim season?
